SyncToy 2.0
Už každý zažil zažil situaci, kdy potřeboval sesynchronizovat data mezi počítači, klíčenkou, ... A ne jednou, ale opakovaně. Můžete to řešit pomocí kopírování. To jde, pokud je toho pár mega a několik souborů. Co s projekty, které mají stovky mega a několik stovek souborů? A když je těch složek, které potřebuji synchronizovat moc?
Microsoft nabízí nástroj SyncToy, nyní již ve verzi 2.0. Používám jej osobně už od verze 1.0, přez různé bety verze 2.0. A nedám na něj dopustit.
Co vše tedy umí?
- Rozdílovou synchronizaci složek a souborů, které jsou specifikovány lokální nebo UNC cestou
- Synchronizuje jména, atributy a časové známky
- Podpora filtrování na úrovni jménasouboru, složky, přípony nebo čísti cesty
- Podpora hashů souborů pro detekci změn beze změny časové známky
- Podpora náhledu akce
- Pozor: nesynchronizuje oprávnění, nesychronizuje "alternate streams" a šifrované soubory pouze v rámci lokálního PC
Použití
Nainstalujte, definujte páry složek, které potřebujete udržet v sync stavu a používejte. Podporované systémy jsou WIndows XP a Windows Vista. Podmínka je mít instalovaný .NET Framework 2.0. Pokud provádíte upgrade ze starší verze (1.0 nebo 2.0 beta), sesynchronizujte všechny složky a teprve potom instalujte. Nebo definujte páry znovu.

- Sync Encrypted Files: Sync of Encrypted files works when local folder and files are encrypted, which addresses the common scenario involving sync between local, encrypted laptop PC folder and remote, unencrypted desktop PC folder.
- 64-Bit Support: SyncToy now has a native 64-bit build (x64 only) for 64-bit versions of Windows.

- Sub-folder Exclusion Enhancements: Descendents created under excluded sub-folders are automatically excluded. Usability improvements for the sub-folder exclusion dialog.
- Folder Pair Metadata Moved: Folder pair metadata removed from MyDocuments to resolve any issues with server-based folder pair re-direction setup.
- Setup Improvements: Integrated setup with single self-extracting archive file and no extra downloads if you already have .NET Framework 2.0 installed. Enabled silent install for the SyncToy Installer file (see readme.txt file for more information). Removed combine and subscribe actions.
